Family Center
A guardian can supervise a young person's account, see what matters, and manage the safety settings.
Family Center links a guardian account to a young person's account, with the young person's consent as part of the link. It is at Settings, then Family Center.
What a guardian can see and do
- An activity overview for each supervised account.
- The account's safety settings, including restricted mode.
- Screen-time limits, and bonus grants of 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
- A per-child assistant that answers questions like what they did today, whether anything is concerning, and who they are talking to.
What supervision is not
It is not a message reader. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted, and supervision does not break that. Family Center is designed around activity and settings, not around surveillance of private conversations.
The minimum age for an account is 13. Supervision links expire and are renewed rather than being permanent by default.
