Surf

Vision

The feed should answer to you.

We started Surf because a business model that sells attention to the highest bidder was never going to serve the people using it.

What we believe.

01

You own your attention.

Software should respect your time, not compete for it. Surf is built to help you get what you came for and close the tab.

02

Algorithms should be accountable.

If code decides what people see, they should be able to overrule it. Sixty-seven sliders, plain-English rules you can switch off, and a master switch that turns ranking off entirely.

03

Privacy is the default.

No ad network, no advertiser API, no data sold. Surf is paid for by subscriptions, and your encrypted messages are excluded from every server-side feature.

04

Creators deserve a fair shot.

There is no ad auction and no promoted-post product. Paid tiers do carry a ranking multiplier, and we publish it on the pricing page rather than hide it.

Where we’re headed.

Directions, not dated commitments.

More of the AI in your browser

Move inference off our servers and into the browser, starting with the work that touches private content.

Moderation that scales past one desk

The queue, the appeals flow and the audit log are built. Staffing them properly is the next investment.

A studio you never have to leave

Shoot, cut, caption, score and publish without opening another app.
